Christian Persecution

Christian Persecution“Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven. Blessed are you when men revile you and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely on account of Me.” Matt. 5:10, 11. Jesus said that persecution of Jews and Christians would intensify in the “end-times”.

There's something familiar about what's happening to Christians in the Middle East and North Africa. Over the last ten years, we've heard the news of church burnings, rapes, kidnappings and mass murders.

All these have taken place at the hands of Muslim Jihadists in the Mideast and North Africa. Yet, nothing has been as stirring as the void that was filled by the Obama-led evacuation of US forces in Iraq. ISIS, an organized militia of Sunni Muslims, conquered a large swath of Iraq and Syria in just weeks after the last US combat soldier left. Many of their weapons were abandoned US issue, trucks and tanks.

An intense struggle is happening in the realm of professional licensing in Canada. The religious freedom of Christians and others is colliding on a grand scale with the "equality rights" of the LGBTQ identity group, and as the tide turns in favor of equality rights, we are starting to witness socially accepted ostracism of Christians by professional bodies.

Top 50 list of Christian persecutors

The isolationist regime of North Korea once again tops the Open Doors USA list of the world's worst persecutors of Christians.

Open Doors USA released its list Wednesday of the world's 50 worst violators, weighing factors such as the jailing of Christians, executions and legal restrictions on religious freedom.

The Christian group this year added the category of whether or not a nation was a "failed" state.

Operations Director Jerry Dykstra says a failed state is "a weak state where social and political structures have collapsed to the point where government has little or no control."

Rounding out the top 12 are...

The U.S. and Christian Persecution

Obama does nothing to protect Christians and other minorities in the Muslim world.

According to the recently released 2014 World Watch List, which ranks the 50 nations where Christians are most persecuted, Syria is the third worst nation in the world in which to be Christian, Iraq is fourth, Afghanistan fifth, and Libya 13th. All four countries receive the strongest designation, “extreme persecution” (other designations are “severe,” “moderate,” and “sparse” persecution).

A Christian Pogrom in Egypt

The attacks on Egypt's Coptic Christians and their churches that began in July on the heels of the popular June 30 Revolution — which saw the ousting of President Morsi and prompted the Muslim Brotherhood to scapegoat and incite violence against the Copts — became even more brutal in mid-August after security forces cleared out Brotherhood "sit in" camps, where people were being tortured, raped, and murdered. Among other things, over 80 Christian churches were attacked and often torched.  (Click here for a brief video of one of these many churches set aflame.)

Ibrahim added:

"Above and beyond the accusations of crimes against humanity that the lawyer-drafted complaint cited by El Watan levels against the Brotherhood, one need only look to the fate of Egypt's Christian minority, who were especially targeted by the Muslim Brotherhood—and thus, by extension, their supporter, Obama—to see numerous examples of nearly every aforementioned definition of crimes against humanity..."

He goes on to explain that the Brotherhood engaged in religious persecution against Christians, murdered and threaten to exterminate Christians in Egypt, engaged in mass destruction of churches and mass deportation of Christians.
